Traveling Tattoo Heritage Museum GoFundMe
Hey everyone,
For those that know about us already and have helped in the past thank you for your support as we enter the next phase of the Tattoo Heritage Project fundraising campaign.
Tattoo Heritage Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the First National Tattoo Art Museum to be located in Long Beach, California. The goal is to gather the funds and partnerships to make this museum a reality. To honor the past, recognize the present and to give the future of tattoo history a home.
The first and ongoing part of this will be our presence at tattoo conventions to not only fundraise but to spread awareness to the public about our project and educate people about tattoo history. Explaining why it is important to preserve and protect what artifacts, photos and writings we have for future generations of artists and collectors alike.
The Traveling Tattoo Museum will be the grassroots extension of the Tattoo Heritage Project as well as the National Tattoo Museum in Long Beach, California.
After a very successful trial run at the San Diego Villain Arts tattoo convention last August we went directly into the lab to design a one of a kind traveling tattoo museum experience that will traverse the country.
Bringing with us never before seen artifacts from the world’s best and biggest collections with specially curated local collections from each city we visit.
We will be hosting seminars and workshops by tattooing legends, movie screenings and auctions for both artists and collectors, exclusive merchandise including signed prints and original art donated by industry heavy hitters and a few surprises along the way!
The main event though of course is our stellar roster of talented artists that donate their time and skill to bring a small piece of tattoo history to you. This is the cornerstone of our grassroots fundraising efforts, a true connection to our community through the most intimate and meaningful way we know, Tattoo.
A mix of artists from around the globe, local legends and emerging artists will always fill our booths to bring a wide variety of styles for you to choose from with a portion of the proceeds going directly to help build and maintain the first ever National tattoo Museum.
With our take on the popular “Get what you get“ game where predetermined designs are chosen blindly we will be introducing our carnival inspired “Good Time Charlie’s Shooting Gallery” and the “Bert Grimm’s Ring Toss” both with over 100 designs in each game! Collectors will get the chance to be tattooed by one of our artists all of whom will do at least one at random throughout the convention to give everyone a chance to get a souvenir from a local artist who is on the rise or a legendary artists that they might never get the opportunity to be tattooed by otherwise.
We hope you will help us to reach out to the greater public through the support of our core tattoo community. This is your chance to be a part of tattoo history, to help us to bridge the gaps of generations, attitudes and culture for a deeper understanding of what got us where we are now and where we go from here.
